The Rise of "Maholo LabDroid" According to the Kyodo News agency, the laboratory currently houses 10 advanced robots, including the highly sophisticated humanoid model known as "Maholo LabDroid." This robotic scientist is capable of replicating intricate human laboratory tasks with superior precision and consistency. For the first time, the lab operates with zero human personnel on-site, marking a paradigm shift from traditional research methodologies to a "Lab-as-a-Service" automated model.


Strategic Roadmap: 2,000 Robots by 2040 The university’s long-term vision involves a seamless integration of robotic automation with AI-driven analytical systems. By 2040, the institution plans to scale its robotic workforce to approximately 2,000 units. This grand ambition aims to delegate the entire scientific workflow to machines—from the initial generation of scientific hypotheses to experimental verification.
