Achraf Hakimi to Stand Trial for Rape: PSG Star Slams "Injustice" as French Judiciary Moves Forward

The French judiciary has officially referred Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi to a criminal trial on charges of rape, following an investigation that began in 2023. The 27-year-old PSG defender is accused of assaulting a woman at his home in the Hauts-de-Seine region. Despite a long-running investigation and conflicting testimonies, the investigating judge followed the prosecution's request to proceed with a trial.

Hakimi took to X (formerly Twitter) to vehemently deny the allegations, stating: "Being accused is enough to justify a trial today, even though I deny it and all evidence proves it false. This is an injustice against the innocent." He added that he remains calm and looks forward to the trial to clear his name. The news comes at a critical moment for PSG as they prepare for their Champions League clash against Monaco.
