In the framework of the strong historical ties between Cairo and Beijing, Egypt and China continue to strengthen their cultural and artistic cooperation, highlighting the profound partnership that has spanned decades. The Egyptian "Al-Horreya Folk Arts Troupe," affiliated with the General Authority for Culture Palaces, participated in the 13th China International Folk Art Festival in Foshan, China, held from October 14 to 21, 2025, symbolizing both countries’ determination to foster creative exchange and collaboration.

Egypt’s Minister of Culture, Ahmed Fouad Henno, affirmed that Egypt's participation coincides with preparations to celebrate the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. He pointed out that both Egyptian and Chinese civilizations are among the oldest in human history, enriching the common heritage throughout the ages. He also stressed that arts and culture have always served as robust bridges connecting peoples, enhancing dialogue, understanding, and friendship through a universal language that transcends time and place.
"Al-Horreya," a troupe based in Alexandria, stands out for its expertise in Egyptian folk choreography, regularly participating in local and international festivals. Their performances, inspired by Alexandrian heritage, feature dynamic dance and expressive movement, which preserve the distinct Egyptian identity.
Artistic and cultural cooperation and creative exchange between Egypt and China not only celebrate the shared legacy, but lay the groundwork for a deeper future partnership, strengthening channels of communication and understanding towards a new era of exceptional cultural synergy.
