Italian legend Fabio Capello has weight in on the ongoing tension between Mohamed Salah and Arne Slot, claiming the Egyptian star lacks the "real confidence" of his manager. Speaking to ON Sport, Capello noted that Slot seems more invested in integrating younger signings, often putting Salah’s pivotal role into question. "Salah has always felt important, but now he feels undervalued," Capello stated, adding that despite Slot's tactical shifts, Salah remains the only player at Anfield capable of consistently making the difference.

The critique follows Liverpool’s painful 2-1 defeat to Manchester City at Anfield, where a late Erling Haaland penalty sealed the Reds' fate. The loss leaves Liverpool languishing in 6th place with 39 points, a staggering 17 points behind leaders Arsenal. With the relationship between Salah and Slot reportedly "broken" earlier this season, Capello’s remarks highlight a growing rift that could define the remainder of Liverpool’s campaign.
