Chinese state media reported on Tuesday that thirty people have died and over 80,000 individuals have been evacuated from their homes in the Chinese capital, Beijing, due to unprecedented heavy rainfall that has lashed the city.

Xinhua News Agency stated that "the latest wave of severe thunderstorms had resulted in 30 deaths in Beijing by midnight Monday." Meanwhile, the official Beijing Daily newspaper reported via its WeChat account that "a total of 80,332 people have been evacuated so far" in the capital, reflecting the scale of efforts to rescue residents from affected areas.
Earlier reports on Monday indicated that heavy rains and floods had caused the deaths of four people and left eight others missing in the neighboring Hebei province, swept away by landslides triggered by the torrents. These figures highlight the devastating impact of the severe weather conditions currently striking large parts of China.
