The first China-Egypt Investment Forum was held in Cairo on Sunday, gathering senior officials, business leaders, and investors from both countries to identify new growth engines and strengthen bilateral investment partnership.

Egyptian Commitment to Expanded Partnership
Egyptian Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Hassan El Khatib, affirmed the country's commitment to broadening bilateral cooperation to include wider sectors. He stressed Egypt's aim for balanced trade and investment relations by:
Attracting more Chinese investments.
Expanding the base for joint production aimed at export.
China's Investment Status and Strategic Alignment
Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce, Ling Ji, noted that China has been Egypt's largest trading partner for 13 consecutive years. The China-Egypt TEDA Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone in Suez has attracted nearly 200 companies.
Chinese Ambassador to Egypt, Liao Liqiang, highlighted that China is one of the most active and fastest-growing investors in Egypt. He emphasized that China's Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) aligns closely with Egypt's Vision 2030, yielding fruitful practical cooperation.
Forum Objectives and Cooperation Areas
The forum, which gathered over 200 Chinese and Egyptian companies, aimed to build a communication platform and explore new growth engines. Panel discussions focused on specialized areas, including:
Textiles.
New Energy.
Digital Economy.
The Chinese side welcomed Egyptian companies to visit China to seek new opportunities, expressing hope that both countries remain reliable partners for sustained, healthy growth.
