China's Ministry of Justice recently announced a major milestone: its public legal services sector has provided over 170 million legal consultations during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025). This impressive figure underscores the government's commitment to improving access to justice for all segments of society.

Expanding Legal Services:
Greater Inclusivity: Justice Minister He Rong stated that China has strengthened its efforts to ensure balanced and accessible legal services across all regions, with a specific focus on meeting the legal needs of vulnerable groups. This includes migrant workers, people with disabilities, the elderly, teenagers, and military personnel and their families.
Massive Workforce: To support these services, China maintains a massive legal workforce. The country currently has:
830,000 lawyers
67,000 arbitrators
15,000 notaries
40,000 judicial appraisers
12,000 legal aid workers
Together, they handle more than 40 million cases annually.
