China Records Over 13 Million Entry and Exit Trips During National Day Holiday with Significant Annual Increase

The National Immigration Administration announced last Tuesday that border inspection agencies across China recorded approximately 13.1 million entry and exit trips during the seven-day National Day holiday, which ended last Monday, representing an annual increase of 25.8%.

According to data from the administration, mainland residents made 7.59 million trips, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan residents made 4.49 million trips, while foreigners made 1.01 million trips, representing increases of 33.2%, 13.2%, and 37.2% respectively compared to the same period last year.
In a related context, the Ministry of Transport announced on Tuesday that the total number of passenger trips during the seven-day National Day holiday exceeded two billion trips. According to the ministry, the average daily number of passenger trips exceeded 286 million trips from October 1 to 7, an increase of 3.9% compared to the National Day holiday last year.
A total of 131 million trips were made by rail, with the average daily number of trips increasing by 6.3% year-on-year, exceeding 18.75 million trips. The average daily number of air trips reached 2.3 million during the holiday period, an increase of 11.1% compared to the previous year.
As for road trips, the number reached 1.85 billion trips during the mentioned period, while waterway trips amounted to 9.8 million trips.
