China's software industry revenue to rise by 13.2 percent in 2025

Beijing, 2026 (Xinhua) -- China's software industry saw rapid expansion in 2025, recording revenue growth of over 10 percent, according to the latest official data.

According to data released today (Friday) by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the sector's total revenue jumped 13.2 percent year-on-year to more than 15.48 trillion yuan (about US$2.22 trillion) last year, and total profits rose 7.3 percent to exceed 1.88 trillion yuan.

The IT services sector generated revenues of 10.64 trillion yuan in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 14.7 percent. Specifically, combined revenues from cloud computing and big data services rose by 13.6 percent to 1.62 trillion yuan.
