Chinese Premier Calls for High-Quality Development Coordinated with High-Level Protection

Chinese Premier Li Qiang has called for efforts to coordinate high-quality development with high-level environmental protection and to accelerate the construction of a modern industrial system that leverages local characteristics and advantages. He made these remarks during an inspection tour of Gansu and Qinghai provinces in northwest China.

Emphasizing Innovation and Green Development


During his visit to a high-tech company and an industrial park in Lanzhou, Gansu province, Li stressed the importance of keeping up with world-leading new industrial sectors. He urged companies and research institutions to increase their investment in R&D and to improve talent development mechanisms.

Li also inspected afforestation and ecological protection efforts along the Lanzhou section of the Yellow River, praising the local achievements in ecological restoration. He called for a comprehensive and systematic approach to protect and conserve the ecosystems of mountains, waters, forests, farmlands, grasslands, and deserts, to further enhance China's hard-won green heritage.

Supporting the Local Economy in Qinghai


In Xining, Qinghai province, Li was briefed on local ecological protection efforts and the use of green energy and computing capabilities. He highlighted Qinghai's significance in ecological protection and its advantages in developing clean energy and green computing, urging continuous pursuit of green and integrated development.

Visiting a local food company, Li encouraged businesses to deepen their involvement in the green agriculture and animal husbandry sectors, leading to a greater role in improving quality and efficiency, as well as boosting employment and income for farmers and herders.

Concluding his tour, Li fully affirmed the economic and social development achievements in Gansu and Qinghai. He urged them to make continued progress in green development and large-scale development of the country's western regions, in order to make new contributions to the nation's overall development.
