Dubai Digital has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Microsoft UAE, a wholly owned subsidiary of Microsoft Corporation, to enhance cooperation in the field of technology and its effective and efficient use to ensure institutional integration between government entities, UAE citizens and residents in Dubai.

The agreement was signed by Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General of Dubai Digital, on behalf of Dubai Digital, and Naim Yazbek, General Manager of Microsoft UAE, at the Dubai Government Pavilion at GITEX World 2024.
The agreement stipulates, among other things, that Microsoft will launch a comprehensive initiative to develop artificial intelligence skills and support Dubai Digital’s efforts in this field, which constitute the current stage of digital transformation.
Microsoft will also support Dubai Digital’s vision to digitize life in Dubai by developing future skills, including training employees in the AI department as well as an AI executive to oversee the development of the Dubai Government’s AI strategy.
Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General of Dubai Digital, welcomed the collaboration, which will contribute to enhancing digital transformation in Dubai, saying: “Our collaboration with Microsoft UAE is in line with our approach to building global partnerships to achieve our common goals and reflects the mutual trust and shared will to cooperate between us and our partners, especially in light of the rapid global changes in the field of artificial intelligence and industrial revolution technologies in general.”
He added: “Dubai has always been and will always be an important destination for major global companies that are distinguished by innovation and leadership. Through this joint journey, these companies, led by Microsoft, have contributed to shaping the digital landscape in Dubai and were part of the success story that made Dubai an inspiring global story. Today, we are pleased to take this relationship to a new level of partnership by placing artificial intelligence at the heart of our collaboration.”
Naim Yazbek, General Manager of Microsoft UAE, said: “Artificial intelligence is a fundamental element of Dubai’s vision for a smart city, so government employees must be equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to achieve Dubai’s goals. This reflects Microsoft’s commitment to supporting government employees and helping them lead digital transformation, improve the quality of public services, and establish Dubai as a global hub for innovation in the field of artificial intelligence.
The agreement stipulates qualifying and training developers on artificial intelligence tracks and providing appropriate content to educate a wider audience on the basic concepts and principles of artificial intelligence, and supporting Dubai’s digital efforts to address the skills gap and prepare individuals and job seekers for future opportunities.
