1. A New Economic Reality
Driving Global Growth: El-Fiqi highlighted that Global South countries now contribute approximately 80% to global economic growth.
Systemic Shift: These nations are moving beyond the old stereotype of "Rich North vs. Poor South," pushing instead for a more balanced and just international financial system.
2. Strategic Cooperation (BRICS and SCO)
Enhanced Bargaining Power: Joining frameworks like BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is crucial for uniting efforts toward sustainable development.
BRICS Plus: The participation of countries like Egypt, the UAE, Iran, and Ethiopia in "BRICS Plus" underscores the vitality of this collective movement.
3. Partnership with China and Regional Leadership
China's Role: El-Fiqi praised China’s support for high-tech industries, clean energy, and AI through the "Belt and Road Initiative." He emphasized that China seeks cooperation for shared prosperity rather than hegemony.
Global Influence: South Africa’s G20 presidency and Egypt’s stability initiatives in the Middle East reflect the growing international responsibility of Global South nations.
