The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has referred the case of a missing ancient bracelet from the conservation laboratory of the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir to the police and public prosecution for necessary legal action. This step was taken after all relevant authorities were notified of the incident.

Urgent Measures for Investigation and Search
Immediately upon learning of the incident, the Ministry took swift action to ensure the investigation proceeded smoothly. A specialized committee was formed to inventory and review all items in the conservation lab. Furthermore, a photo of the missing bracelet was circulated to all archaeological units at Egyptian airports, land, sea, and border crossings to prevent any attempt to smuggle it out of the country.
Clarifications on the Missing Piece
The Director-General of the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir clarified that the missing bracelet is different from the images circulating on some news websites and social media platforms. He confirmed that the bracelet under investigation is a gold bracelet with a spherical lapis lazuli bead, belonging to King Amenemope from the Third Intermediate Period. The Ministry stressed that the delay in announcing the incident was to provide a suitable environment to ensure the accuracy of the investigation.
