The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) announced the launch of its first "Peace Prize," set to be awarded during the World Cup draw on December 5th in Washington. The prize aims to recognize "exceptional efforts in bringing about peace."

The Frontrunner and Official Stance
The Favorite: Axios reported that US President Donald Trump is the frontrunner for the award, especially after losing the Nobel Peace Prize last month.
Infantino’s Praise: This speculation arose after FIFA President, Gianni Infantino, was a guest at the American Business Forum in Miami, immediately following Trump. Infantino praised Trump's "incredible energy," calling him a "close friend," and acknowledging his contribution to the preparations for the 2026 World Cup.
Vague Response: When Infantino was asked if Trump would be the first winner of the FIFA Peace Prize, he replied: "On December 5th, you will see."
Prize Objectives
FIFA's Message: Infantino stated: "In an increasingly troubled and divided world, outstanding contributions by those working diligently to end conflict and bring people together in a spirit of peace must be recognized."
