Google CEO Warns of "AI Bubble": What Does He Mean?

The CEO of Alphabet (Google's parent company), Sundar Pichai, has warned against "blind reliance" on everything generated by Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools.

Risks of Errors and Lack of Immunity

Pichai confirmed in an interview with the BBC that AI models can make mistakes, cautioning against the "potential risks of an AI bubble bursting."

  • Cautious Use: He advised using AI models alongside other tools because they are "not infallible," according to his expression.

  • Blind Trust: Pichai explained that AI tools are useful if the user wants to write something creative, adding that "people need to learn how to use these tools for what they are good at," and warning against "blindly trusting everything they say." He stressed: "We pride ourselves on how much work we put in to get information as accurate as possible, but current AI technology, despite its novelty, is still prone to some errors."

  • Immunity from the Bubble: When asked if Google was immune to the effect of an AI bubble bursting, Pichai stated that "no company will be immune, including us."

This warning follows that of the CEO of JPMorgan Chase, the largest bank in the US, who last month warned of the potential collapse of the US stock market due to the "AI bubble."

Google’s Future Plans

Google has integrated AI into its search engine since last May to give users an advanced experience. The company plans to launch its new AI model, "Gemini 3.0," soon, although the date has not yet been specified.
