The Zhuhai Port on the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) has registered over 93.34 million inbound and outbound passenger journeys up to last Wednesday, seven years after the bridge opened to traffic. The 55-kilometer-long bridge, which links the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions (SARs) with the city of Zhuhai in Southern China, is considered the world's longest sea crossing combining a bridge and a tunnel and was inaugurated on October 23, 2018.

The bridge's border inspection station reported handling 12.88 million passenger journeys and 860,000 vehicle journeys in 2019. These figures surged in 2024 to 27 million passenger journeys and 5.55 million vehicle journeys.
Record Figures and Rapid Growth
Year-to-Date (2025): Passenger journeys have already exceeded 25.1 million and vehicle journeys 5.46 million, representing a year-on-year increase of 17% and 25%, respectively.
Tourism Boost: The expansion of individual travel from the Chinese mainland to Hong Kong and Macao has significantly boosted tourism via the bridge. Since the beginning of the year, the inspection station has processed over 10.15 million visitors from the mainland, including a record 4.6 million visitors holding tourist visas.
Reduced Travel Time: The bridge reduced the driving time from Hong Kong to Zhuhai and Macao from three hours to approximately 45 minutes.
Daily Vehicle Flow: The daily flow of vehicles through Zhuhai Port has increased, rising from about 9,000 vehicles in 2023 to more than 18,000 vehicles currently.
