These candidates, although out of the spotlight, represent a diverse base of political and social orientations, and express issues that may not find their way through the mainstream currents of the Republican and Democratic parties. Here, we review the most prominent names in this electoral race, and their potential role in changing the election results.

1. Robert Kennedy Jr. - From Democrat to Trump supporter:

Coming from the famous Kennedy family, Robert Kennedy Jr. was a contender within the ranks of the Democratic Party, but decided to abandon his candidacy as an independent and join the Trump campaign.

His previous vision: Kennedy was known for his skeptical positions on vaccines and American health policies, which made him popular among groups that oppose government and big business interference in public health. His controversial positions focused on combating the influence of pharmaceutical companies.

Challenges: Despite his withdrawal and support for Trump, his involvement in the campaign may raise questions about his motives and goals, especially after his career in the Democratic Party.

2. Cornel West - Independent Academic:

Cornel West, the famous thinker and philosophy professor, enters the race as an independent candidate representing progressive voices thirsting for radical social change, focusing on issues of justice and civil rights.

His political vision: West calls for comprehensive reform that reshapes the political and social system, with an emphasis on the rights of marginalized groups, introducing new policies in education and health, and canceling student debt. His policies aim to break the grip of large corporations on political decision-making.

Challenges: West faces difficulties in promoting his vision due to lack of funding and weak media coverage, which limits his influence in major states.

3. Jill Stein - Green Voice and Middle East Convener:

Jill Stein, a former Green Party candidate, has made a strong comeback to the electoral arena, supported by environmental issues and progressive policies, in addition to her decisive stance on Arab and Islamic issues.

Her political vision: Stein proposes an agenda that adopts the "Green Deal" to address the climate crisis, and calls for providing free education and health care. However, she has received special support from the Arab and Muslim community due to her positions in support of Palestinian rights, and her rejection of arming Israel.

Challenges: Despite the popularity of her progressive positions, the Green Party faces funding and organizational restrictions that make it difficult for it to expand with the required momentum on the national stage.

4. Chase Oliver - Libertarian Party candidate:

Chase Oliver is the Libertarian Party candidate in the 2024 elections, seeking to present an alternative to the prevailing dual system in American politics.

His political vision: Oliver focuses on enhancing individual freedoms, reducing the size of government, and reducing taxes. He also calls for comprehensive reforms in criminal justice and sees an urgent need to reduce government interference in people’s lives.

Challenges: Although his party represents an attractive alternative for some voters, limited support and financial resources are a barrier to achieving widespread campaign visibility, making it difficult for him to attract media attention.

While these candidates’ chances may seem slim, they are making their mark on the race by appealing to groups dissatisfied with the two major parties. The split between the candidates could have a decisive impact on the outcome of the election, especially in swing states. As the race heats up, the role of other candidates remains an important factor that can change the American political landscape.
