German airline Lufthansa Group announced that it has decided to extend its suspension of flights to Tehran and Beirut until early next year for operational reasons.

It said the extension includes the suspension of flights to and from Tehran until January 31 and the suspension of flights to and from Beirut until February 28.
The Lufthansa Group includes Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian, Brussels Airlines and Eurowings.
In a separate statement, Swiss Airlines said it had decided to cancel its flights to Beirut until January 18, 2025 so that passengers and crew can obtain assurances about flight schedules.
Lufthansa has decided to suspend its daily flights from Frankfurt to the Chinese capital Beijing.
A company spokesman in Frankfurt announced on Monday that it would temporarily cancel its flights to the region in its winter schedule starting next Sunday (October 27) for economic reasons.
Lufthansa will continue to operate daily direct flights to Beijing via its second hub in Munich. The airline uses the Airbus A350, a more modern aircraft with lower fuel costs. The airline previously used older A340s on the Frankfurt-Beijing route.
