Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah patronized the signing of the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract for the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port project on Boubyan Island. The agreement was signed between Kuwait’s Ministry of Public Works, represented by Dr. Nora Al-Mashaan, and the China Communications Construction Company (CCCC), represented by Vice President Chen Zhong.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the port is a cornerstone of Kuwait Vision 2035, aimed at diversifying the economy and positioning Kuwait as a pivotal regional logistics hub. Dr. Al-Mashaan highlighted the port as a landmark for national maritime infrastructure. Chinese Chargé d'Affaires Liu Xiang stated that this cooperation marks a significant leap within the "Belt and Road Initiative." Notably, CCCC revealed that this is its first Middle Eastern project built to Chinese technical standards, integrating advanced innovation to ensure the port becomes a global model of excellence.
