In what is being described as the largest protest in the island's history, nearly a quarter of the population of Nuuk braved sub-zero temperatures and snow on Saturday to deliver a clear message to President Donald Trump: "Greenland is not for sale." Accompanied by Prime Minister Jens Frederik Nielsen, protesters marched to the U.S. Consulate, waving national flags and reaffirming their right to self-determination.

As the march concluded, news broke of Trump's decision to impose a 10% punitive tariff on European nations opposing his acquisition plans. The mood shifted from defiance to shock, with participants calling the move a "lack of remorse for humanity." Solidary rallies also erupted in Copenhagen and the Inuit-governed Nunavut in Canada, signaling a unified front against Washington’s Arctic expansionism.
