This measure aims to achieve several key objectives:

• Market Share Recovery: The eight countries, sometimes referred to as the "Voluntary Eight," are looking to reclaim market share amid resilient crude oil prices.

• Compensation for Overproduction: The countries have confirmed their intention to fully compensate for any overproduction since January 2024.

• Flexibility: The group stressed that the phase-out of the additional voluntary adjustments could be paused or reversed based on evolving market conditions, ensuring continued support for market stability.

The eight countries will hold monthly meetings to review market conditions, compliance, and compensation. The next meeting is scheduled for September 7, 2025. This meeting will be crucial for discussing the remaining cuts that are still in place until the end of next year.
