The minister explained that Saudi Arabia has 30 ports that account for about 80% of the country’s transportation services.

The minister noted that Saudi Arabia is going through “the deepest period of change in its history,” as the government has withdrawn from the logistics sector and the private sector has taken its place.

In a speech at the World Logistics Forum in Riyadh on Sunday, the minister noted that Saudi Arabia is located at the crossroads of East and West, North and South, where logistics supply chain centers are being formed, as well as its role in producing green energy.

Minister Al-Falih noted that Saudi Arabia will be one of the largest producers of green energy, stressing the importance of regionalizing the supply chain.

The forum will bring together logistics leaders from around the world to discuss key trends, challenges and opportunities.
