In a high-level video call on Tuesday, Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun urged his Russian counterpart Andrey Belousov to "strengthen strategic coordination" and enhance their ability to respond to global risks. This military alignment follows recent peace talks in Abu Dhabi and comes amid Western accusations that Beijing continues to facilitate Russia's defense industry.

Minister Belousov highlighted that the recent "experiences of Venezuela and Iran"—referring to U.S.-led interventions—necessitate a constant re-evaluation of the global security landscape by both nations. As President Donald Trump shifts focus toward the Arctic and Greenland, citing Chinese and Russian threats, the deepening partnership between Beijing and Moscow signals a concerted effort to create a counterweight to American strategic maneuvers.
