The Egyptian government reveals the date of the start of the electrical connection with Saudi Arabia

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said that the electrical connection line between Saudi Arabia and Egypt will start operating in May or June of next year.

The Egyptian Prime Minister explained in a press conference today, Wednesday, that the first phase of the electrical connection between Egypt and Saudi Arabia will start with a capacity of 1,500 megawatts out of a total capacity of 3,000 megawatts.
On Tuesday, Egypt and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia signed an agreement to encourage and protect mutual investments between the two countries, in a move to increase Saudi investments in Egypt.
This came during the visit of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to Cairo, where he signed an Egyptian-Saudi agreement with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi "to follow up on various aspects of bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to continue developing them." The signing was witnessed by the Saudi-Saudi Supreme Coordination Council.
According to a statement issued by the Egyptian presidency, during the meeting between the Crown Prince and the Egyptian President, "the ongoing efforts to develop the Egyptian-Saudi economic partnership were discussed, especially investment and trade exchange between the two countries and economic integration in the fields of energy, transportation and tourism."
