"The Final Decision is in Ribeiro's Hands": Koka a Candidate to Join Al Ahly

Cairo, Egypt – A source close to Al Ahly Club has revealed that Egyptian striker Ahmed Hassan Koka, formerly of French club Le Havre, has emerged as a strong candidate to join the ranks of the Red Devils during the current summer transfer window. Al Ahly's interest in Koka comes as the club seeks to bolster its attacking prowess, especially with the imminent departure of Palestinian striker Wessam Abou Ali to American club Columbus Crew.

In exclusive statements to Yalla Kora, the source explained that "Ahmed Hassan Koka's name has been put forward to reinforce Al Ahly's attack." The primary reason behind the club's consideration of signing him is that he is a free agent after the expiration of his contract with Le Havre.

The source added that, should the deal materialize, "Koka's contract will be for one renewable season." Concluding their remarks, the source emphasized that "the final decision to finalize Koka's transfer to Al Ahly rests with the team's coach, Jose Ribeiro," indicating that the fate of the transfer hinges on the technical director's vision.

Ahmed Hassan Koka began his football career in Al Ahly's youth sector before moving to Portugal for a professional stint with Rio Ave in 2011. Koka spent the second half of the last season, 2024-2025, with French club Le Havre, where he participated in 16 matches, scoring 3 goals and assisting one.
