President Donald Trump signed an executive order establishing the "Genesis Mission," a national initiative aimed at harnessing Artificial Intelligence (AI) to accelerate research and achieve major scientific breakthroughs.

1. Core Goal and Platform
Objective: To create a platform capable of using AI to gather scientific data from public research, develop new AI models, automate certain research stages, and test new hypotheses.
The Central Platform: The core of the initiative is the "American Science and Security Platform."
Platform Components: This platform will provide researchers access to:
High-Performance Computing (HPC) resources.
AI modeling tools.
Vast federal datasets for training foundational scientific models and automating research.
Implementation: The Department of Energy was tasked with building an integrated AI platform combining the nation's supercomputers, federal scientific datasets, and research facilities.
2. Priority Fields and Partners
Importance of AI: The text described AI as a "critical frontier for scientific discovery and economic growth," stressing that "America is competing for global technology dominance in AI development."
Areas of Discovery: Priority fields that will benefit from the initiative include:
Advanced manufacturing.
Biotechnology and biomaterials.
Nuclear energy and nuclear fusion.
Quantum computing and semiconductors (areas where the US faces increasing competition from China).
Partners: Energy Secretary Chris Wright named chip giants "Nvidia" and "AMD," alongside cloud computing firms "Dell" and "HP," as initial partners in the project.
Collaboration and Security: The executive order calls for collaborations with private companies, universities, and national labs, while imposing strict cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive research.
