Wall Street gains for sixth straight week

The S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite closed higher on Friday, helped by gains in stock prices from Netflix earnings and a rally in technology stocks.

All three major Wall Street indexes rose for a sixth straight week, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average was little changed at the close of trading on Friday after hitting a record high the previous day.

Streaming giant Netflix saw its stock price rise after it said new subscriber numbers beat Wall Street expectations and that growth would continue through the end of the year.

Shares of several technology companies, known as the Big Seven, which have led most of Wall Street’s gains since the start of the year, also rose.
