Xi and Macron Call for Stability in China-France Relations to Counter Global Uncertainty

Chinese President Xi Jinping and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron attended the closing ceremony of the 7th China-France Business Council Meeting today (Thursday) in Beijing, where both delivered speeches.

President Xi Jinping focused on the importance of bilateral relations in addressing global challenges, noting that the two sides should respond to the "uncertainties" witnessed in today's world by maintaining the stability of China-France relations.

Chinese Calls for Expanding Cooperation: The Chinese President urged both sides to achieve three main goals:

  1. Expand Bilateral Cooperation: Continuously expand new areas of economic and trade cooperation between China and France.

  2. Enhance China-EU Cooperation: Continue to promote new progress within the framework of mutually beneficial cooperation between China and the European Union as a whole.

  3. Contribute to Global Governance: Work jointly to make new contributions to the reform and improvement of global governance.
