Chinese President Xi Jinping stated that the commemorative events for China's Victory Day have strengthened the nation's resolve and confidence in building a powerful country and comprehensively advancing national rejuvenation. His remarks were made in a speech after receiving a report summarizing the events held to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

A Living Curriculum for National Education
In his speech at a meeting of the Political Bureau Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, Xi praised the contributions of all groups involved in organizing the events, encouraging them to achieve new accomplishments. He described the events as inspiring and said they helped pass on the great spirit forged during the war of resistance.
Xi emphasized that these commemorative events should be used as a "vibrant curriculum for national education," transforming the inspired confidence and pride into a tremendous driving force for reform, development, and stability. He also stressed the need to adhere to the correct view of the history of the war and to draw wisdom and strength from the great victory achieved through the heroic and unified resistance of the Chinese nation.

Strengthening China's Global Position
Xi underscored the importance of continuing to tell China's stories of the war and its peaceful development. This effort, he said, is crucial to showing the world that China remains a strong defender of the post-war international order.
The commemorative events, held on September 3, included a grand military parade in Tiananmen Square and a reception at the Great Hall of the People.
