According to a report by the American website "Axios," citing reliable sources, the United Arab Emirates has issued a stern warning to the administration of President Donald Trump. The UAE has cautioned that Israel's plans to annex large parts of the occupied West Bank would deliver a fatal blow to the "Abraham Accords" and undermine any hopes of expanding regional normalization. This warning comes as Israel is seriously considering implementing annexation measures this month in response to several Western nations recognizing the Palestinian state.

The UAE believes that President Donald Trump is the only one who can prevent this move, and his failure to do so would jeopardize his foreign policy legacy. In a firm stance, Abu Dhabi has declared that Israel's annexation of Palestinian territories constitutes a "red line."
In sharp remarks to "Axios," a senior Emirati official, who remained anonymous, stated that implementing Israeli annexation plans would cause irreparable damage to bilateral relations between the UAE and Israel and would permanently obstruct the vision of regional integration. The official emphasized that Israel's choice is clear: "either annexation or integration," implying that the two are mutually exclusive.
The sources revealed that the UAE conveyed its deep concerns to both the White House and Benjamin Netanyahu's government over the past two weeks, warning of the dire consequences of annexation. While Emirati officials declined to comment on the specifics of these discussions, they did not deny the existence of a profound concern in Abu Dhabi.
The Emirati official explained that Israeli annexation would "sound the death knell" for the two-state solution and rejected the Israeli claim that the move is merely a response to international recognition of Palestine, calling this justification "unconvincing."
It is worth noting that in 2020, the UAE made Israel's abandonment of any annexation plans a prerequisite for signing the normalization agreement. While some Israeli officials see this commitment as temporary, the Emiratis assert that annexation violates the spirit and essence of the "Abraham Accords."
Although the Emirati official did not explicitly threaten to cancel the peace agreement with Israel, "Axios" confirmed that the option was not ruled out. This indicates the seriousness of the Emirati position and the potential for escalatory measures should Israel proceed with its annexation plans.
