"A Reward for Genocide": Hamas Slams Netanyahu’s Inclusion in Trump’s "Board of Peace" Amid UN Bypass Fears

Hamas official Mahmoud Mardawi has condemned the signing of Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu into the newly established "Board of Peace" as a "mockery of justice." Mardawi stated that appointing a leader accused of war crimes to a peace-building body serves only to legitimize policies of "oppression and genocide." He emphasized that political decrees cannot redefine human rights and that justice will not be obscured by partisan frameworks.

The controversy deepens as the Board's charter reveals a highly centralized structure, designating Donald Trump as Chairman for Life with absolute veto power. The charter explicitly criticizes existing international institutions—implicitly the United Nations—as having "too often failed," proposing a "more nimble" alternative. Membership fees of $1 billion for permanent seats and Trump’s sole authority to invite or expel members have fueled accusations that the Board is a "private club" for global power brokers rather than a legitimate humanitarian mechanism for Gaza's reconstruction.
