The Palestinian General Authority for Crossings and Borders has announced the resumption of operations at the Karama Crossing, which links the occupied West Bank and Jordan, starting tomorrow, Friday. The crossing is also known as the Allenby Bridge to Israelis and the King Hussein Bridge to Jordanians.

Details of the Closure and the New Decision
The crossing was closed on September 18 following the killing of two Israeli soldiers in a shooting incident. Although Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had decided to extend the closure, the Israel Airports Authority announced that the decision to reopen it came "at the instruction of the political leadership."
Economic Repercussions for Palestinians
The Palestinian Ministry of National Economy had warned of the serious repercussions of closing the crossing, which serves as the primary and only outlet for Palestinians. The ministry highlighted that a continued closure would have caused significant damage to:
The Palestinian Economy: It is the main lifeline for exporting Palestinian products and importing raw materials and goods.
Food and Agricultural Security: The closure directly affects agricultural products.
Movement of People: It is the only gateway for travel abroad, impacting the mobility of Palestinians.
Humanitarian Aid: A large portion of humanitarian aid for the Gaza Strip is transported through this crossing.
The ministry affirmed that the closure was an arbitrary measure, part of the occupation's policy of restricting the Palestinian people.
