According to an Axios report, President Donald Trump and his top aides pressed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to alter Israel's policies in the occupied West Bank during their Mar-a-Lago summit on Monday. The White House reportedly warned that violent escalation in the territory could derail the implementation of the Gaza ceasefire and stifle efforts to expand the Abraham Accords—a key priority for Trump’s current term.

During the discussions, which included Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Jared Kushner, the U.S. team raised concerns over settler violence, settlement expansion, and the looming financial collapse of the Palestinian Authority. While Trump publicly lauded Netanyahu as a "hero," he admitted to reporters that the two are not "100% aligned" on the West Bank. Notably, the meeting resulted in Netanyahu agreeing to advance toward Phase 2 of the Gaza deal and resuming security talks with the Syrian government at Trump’s request.
