A wave of confusion and disillusionment is sweeping through Iran after President Donald Trump backed away from his repeated pledges to militarily support the uprising against the regime. Speaking to the Washington Post, protesters expressed a sense of "deep betrayal," revealing that Trump’s social media vows of "help is on the way" were a primary catalyst for their risky defiance. However, as the promised strikes failed to materialize, many now feel abandoned by an administration they believed was their ultimate ally.

While the White House attributed the pause to regional pressures and the cancellation of 800 executions by Tehran, critics labeled Trump’s rhetoric as "irresponsible." Despite the current setback, some hold onto hope as the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group moves toward the Middle East. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt maintained the ambiguity, stating that "only the President knows his next move," leaving the Iranian street caught between a faint hope for intervention and a crushing sense of defeat.
