Bollywood star Dharmendra, who was renowned for his roles in romantic comedies and action-packed thrillers, died on Monday at the age of 89. The actor recently suffered from a health setback and was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai.

Prime Minister's Condolence: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that Dharmendra's death "marks the end of an era in Indian cinema," describing him as a "towering cinematic personality, an exceptional actor who brought charm and depth to every role he played."
Distinguished Career: His acting career spanned six decades, during which he appeared in over 250 films.
Iconic Roles: His most famous and celebrated role was the character Veeru in the 1975 classic film "Sholay."
Other Achievements: Dharmendra also served as a Member of Parliament and received one of India's highest civilian honours.

Family: Dharmendra was a father of six and participated in producing films starring his sons, Sunny and Bobby Deol.
