Cairo Summit: El-Sisi and Bin Zayed Welcome Trump's Initiative to Halt Gaza War Amid Deepening Bilateral Economic Ties

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi hosted President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, today at Al-Ittihadiya Palace. The visit, described as fraternal, served as a continuation of the ongoing consultation and close coordination between the leaderships of the two sisterly nations.

Ambassador Mohamed Elshinnawy, the Official Spokesperson for the Presidency, stated that the meeting included an expanded session with the two countries' delegations, followed by a closed bilateral meeting between the two leaders, and concluded with a working luncheon in honour of the distinguished guest and his delegation.

President El-Sisi began the meeting by underscoring the depth and robustness of the bilateral relations between Egypt and the UAE, praising the remarkable progress in cooperation across various sectors, particularly trade and investment. He affirmed Egypt’s commitment to overcoming any obstacles facing Emirati investments, commending the recent "leap" in economic relations.

In turn, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan praised the significant development in Egypt's investment climate, acknowledging that it reflects the efforts made to enhance the business environment and attract investments.

The Spokesperson added that the discussions also covered regional developments, foremost among them the situation in the Gaza Strip. On this matter, the two leaders expressed their welcome of the initiative put forth by President Donald Trump to halt the war in the Strip. They stressed the critical importance of supporting this peaceful initiative, which they view as paving the way toward achieving lasting and comprehensive peace in the region.
