Casualty Update: Israel’s Health Ministry Reports Over 1,200 Hospitalized Since Start of Conflict

As the military exchange between Israel and Iran intensifies on its fifth day, the Israeli Ministry of Health released a detailed report on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, regarding the human cost of the ongoing missile barrages. Over the last 24 hours alone, 219 individuals were evacuated to medical centers across the country. The ministry specified that while the majority of these new admissions—198 people—are in good condition, 10 individuals sustained moderate injuries requiring more intensive care. This surge in patients highlights the significant impact of interception debris and blast waves on civilian areas, particularly in central Israel.

Since the conflict erupted on Saturday, the total number of hospitalizations has reached 1,274. Currently, 96 patients remain hospitalized for ongoing treatment. Among them are 23 people in moderate condition and 65 in good condition, while four others are undergoing urgent medical examinations. The ministry also noted that several cases were treated for acute anxiety and shock, reflecting the psychological toll of the continuous sirens and explosions. With rescue teams still operating in areas hit by shrapnel, such as Bnei Brak and Ramat Gan, medical facilities remain on high alert to handle potential new waves of casualties as the war shows no signs of abating.
