Clipping Iran’s Wings: Israel Destroys 6 Military Runways and Strikes Quds Force Command Centers

Early Monday, March 9, 2026, the Israeli Air Force launched a devastating wave of strategic strikes targeting Iran’s operational backbone. The offensive specifically neutralized the Quds Force (the IRGC's external arm) and crippled the Iranian Air Force's ability to project power. The strikes spanned across Tehran, Isfahan, and Shiraz, delivering high-precision hits to manufacturing and command facilities.

Runway Destruction and Logistical Paralysis In a significant tactical escalation, the IDF confirmed the destruction of six major military runways during nighttime operations. This led to the elimination of numerous combat aircraft and helicopters, including transport planes used by the Quds Force to ferry weapons across the region. By obliterating these runways, Israel has effectively trapped Iran’s aerial assets and cut off the primary supply routes used to arm its regional proxies, leaving Tehran in a state of total logistical paralysis.

Striking the Heart of Missile Manufacturing In Tehran, the primary target was the central command hub of the Quds Force, the brain behind Iran’s foreign military operations. Simultaneously, in Isfahan, airstrikes leveled high-value ballistic missile manufacturing and storage sites. Strikes were also reported in the vicinity of Shiraz in the south. As the IDF declared the completion of this wave, it immediately announced the commencement of a "new, large-scale wave" of strikes in Tehran, signaling an unrelenting campaign to force a total military collapse.
