Cuban President Refutes Trump: No Ongoing Talks with America

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel denied on Monday the existence of any political negotiations between his country and the United States, even as President Donald Trump escalates pressure on the island. Díaz-Canel clarified on the "X" platform: "There are no talks with the U.S. government, except for procedural communications regarding migration."

"لا أحد يملي علينا".. رئيس كوبا يكذّب ترامب وينفي وجود مفاوضات سياسية

Threats and Oil Pressure: This follows Trump's Sunday announcement that Washington was "in discussions" with Havana. Trump had warned Cuba to reach a deal or face unspecified consequences, asserting that the flow of Venezuelan oil and money—which has sustained Cuba for years—will now stop. He accused Cuba of providing security services to Venezuelan leaders, stating, "But not anymore."

High Tension: In a defiant response, Díaz-Canel wrote: "No one dictates to us what to do," describing Cuba as a "free and independent nation" that has endured U.S. aggression for 66 years. This exchange occurs after the Cuban government confirmed that 32 of its military personnel were killed during the U.S. operation to arrest Nicolás Maduro. Meanwhile, Secretary of State Marco Rubio hinted last week that Cuba might be the next target in the administration's efforts to re-establish U.S. dominance in the Western Hemisphere.
