"Death and Fury": Trump Warns Iran of a "20 Times Harder" Strike Over Strait of Hormuz Threats

U.S. President Donald Trump escalated his rhetoric on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, issuing a devastating warning to Tehran against any attempt to disrupt global oil supplies through the Strait of Hormuz. In a post on "Truth Social" and during a press conference in Florida, Trump vowed that any Iranian move to block the waterway would be met with U.S. strikes "twenty times harder" than any previous operations, promising a response of "death, fire, and fury."

Targeting Infrastructure and Global Energy Stability Trump indicated that the U.S. might pivot toward "easy-to-destroy targets," such as power grids and essential utilities, which would make it "virtually impossible" for Iran to recover as a functional state. He framed the U.S. presence in the Strait as a "gift" to countries dependent on the route, including China. These threats come as maritime traffic in the Strait has reached a near-standstill. Since the war began on February 28, at least 10 vessels have been attacked, causing Brent crude to briefly spike above $100 per barrel for the first time in years.

IRGC Counter-Defiance: "We Dictate the End" The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) swiftly dismissed Trump’s claims that the war would end "very soon." In a defiant statement, the IRGC spokesperson asserted that Iran—not Washington—will determine "the end of the war." The Guard warned that if U.S.-Israeli strikes continue, they will ensure not "a single liter of oil" is exported from the region. The IRGC also expressed readiness to confront the U.S. Navy directly in the Strait, maintaining that regional security "is for everyone or for no one."
