Paramedics reported that several people were killed and others were wounded in an Israeli airstrike targeting a mosque near Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah in central Gaza early Sunday. The Israeli military said in a statement that the Israeli air force carried out a precision strike on Hamas members who were working inside a command and control center in a building that was previously used as a mosque in the Deir al-Balah area, based on intelligence information from the Israel Defense Forces and the Shin Bet.

According to the agency, paramedics transferred the bodies of 10 dead and a number of wounded to Kamal Adwan Hospital in the Jabalia camp after they were hit in an Israeli airstrike on a house in Jabalia al-Balad on Saturday evening.

Two Palestinians were also killed and others wounded in an Israeli strike on an apartment in the Jabalia camp. The agency reported that Red Crescent paramedics transferred the bodies of three people and a number of wounded to Al-Awda Hospital in the Jabalia camp after an Israeli strike on a house in Bir al-Na’ja, west of the Jabalia camp.

The agency also reported that Palestinians were killed near the Jabalia Services Club after an Israeli strike on a water distribution truck.

The latest war in Gaza erupted after Hamas-led militants attacked southern Israel on October 7.

The attack killed 1,200 people and took 250 hostages, according to Israeli statistics.

The subsequent Israeli assault on Gaza killed nearly 42,000 Palestinians, according to the health ministry in the enclave, and displaced almost all of the 2.3 million population.

International diplomacy led by the United States has so far failed to reach a ceasefire in Gaza, with Hamas wanting a deal to end the war while Israel says the fighting will not end until the movement is eliminated.
