The "Islamic Resistance in Iraq" announced 23 offensive operations on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, utilizing dozens of drones to target U.S. and regional interests. A suicide drone exploded within the U.S. Diplomatic Support Center at Baghdad International Airport, while Erbil faced over 20 drone strikes. Simultaneously, Kuwait’s Civil Aviation Authority reported a massive fire at Kuwait International Airport’s fuel tanks following an Iranian-led drone attack.

Regional defenses remained high as Saudi Arabia intercepted two drones over its territory. In Bahrain, emergency teams battled a blaze at a corporate facility following a drone strike that triggered air raid sirens. While Tehran claims to target "U.S. assets" in retaliation for the ongoing war, the attacks have increasingly hit civilian infrastructure and energy sectors, drawing sharp condemnation from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
