Egypt Reaffirms Support for Syria's Unity and Rejects Israeli Aggressions

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Ati affirmed on Sunday his country's firm stance on the necessity of preserving Syria's unity and territorial integrity, and supporting national state institutions to protect the country's stability and the rights of the Syrian people.

The statement came during a meeting between Minister Abdel-Ati and his Syrian counterpart, Asaad al-Shaibani, on the sidelines of the Doha Forum, according to Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tamim Khalaf.
The Egyptian Position:
Rejection of Aggressions: Minister Abdel-Ati reiterated the absolute rejection of any Israeli aggressions targeting Syrian territory.
Warning Against Undermining Sovereignty: He warned of the danger of exploiting the current situation to justify interventions or practices that undermine Syrian sovereignty.
Continuous Contact: The Minister stressed that Egypt continues its communications with regional and international parties to emphasize the need to respect Syria's sovereignty and reject any attempts to harm its security or stability.
The Syrian Position:
Condition for Peace Deal: Syrian Minister Asaad al-Shaibani asserted at the Doha Forum that Syria will not enter into any agreement with Israel without its withdrawal from the areas entered after December 8, noting that Israel has been a concern for Syrians since December 7.
Call to Cease Intervention: Al-Shaibani indicated that Syria has shown more rationality and diplomacy than Israel, confirming Damascus' desire for Israel to stop intervening in Syria's internal affairs and influencing segments of the population.
