The Egyptian Ministry of Interior announced on Sunday, March 29, 2026, the arrest of several "Hasm" movement members and the frustration of a major plot aimed at sabotaging state infrastructure. The operation culminated in the successful extradition of a high-ranking leader, Ali Mahmoud Mohamed Abdel-Wanis, from an African nation.

A History of Terror:
Abdel-Wanis confessed to orchestrating notorious attacks, including the assassination of Brigadier General Adel Ragaei and the 2019 Oncology Institute bombing.
