Escalation in Gaza: 23 Killed and Israeli Evacuation Warning Issued Around Al-Shifa Hospital Complex

The Gaza Strip is witnessing a fierce escalation of attacks, resulting in the deaths of at least 23 Palestinian citizens and injuries to many others since the dawn of Monday, in a continuous barrage of Israeli raids.

The Palestinian news agency "Wafa" reported the killing of one citizen and the wounding of others—aid seekers—by Israeli forces near the Al-Tina aid center southwest of Khan Younis city in the southern Strip. The agency also noted that five citizens were killed in an Israeli aerial bombardment of the Palestinian Medical Council building in the Al-Kutayba area west of Gaza City, which was housing displaced people. Additionally, five citizens were killed and several wounded in an Israeli strike on the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood southeast of Gaza City early this morning.

In a widespread destruction effort, "Wafa" stated that Israeli forces detonated a number of booby-trapped armored vehicles loaded with tons of explosives to demolish citizens' homes in the Al-Nasr area west of Gaza City. Demolition operations were also executed near the Intelligence Towers northwest of Gaza. Furthermore, Israeli "Quad Copter" drones dropped over 50 explosive bombs at dawn on scattered homes, concentrating on the Al-Samir and Public Service areas of Gaza City.

Israeli Evacuation Order Near Al-Shifa Medical Complex

In a terrifying development, the Israeli army issued an immediate evacuation warning on Monday for several residential buildings surrounding the Al-Shifa Medical Complex in western Gaza City. Al-Shifa and its vicinity are densely populated, hosting tens of thousands of Palestinians, including displaced individuals.

Eyewitnesses told the "Anadolu Agency" that the army issued evacuation warnings to four multi-story residential buildings on Abu Haseera Street, signaling their imminent bombardment. The witnesses reported that a state of panic gripped hundreds of Palestinians living in and around the buildings, causing them to flee their homes quickly without taking any essential belongings. Israeli warnings are typically delivered via phone calls to residents or through official leaflets and statements.

This ongoing escalation around Abu Haseera Street is part of a military operation launched by the Israeli army on Gaza City on August 11, later named "Gideon's Chariots 2," which has involved the demolition of homes using explosive robots, artillery shelling, indiscriminate firing, and forced displacement. Despite the hazardous conditions, nearly 900,000 Palestinians are refusing to leave Gaza City and relocate to the southern areas of the Strip.
