The Fatah and Hamas movements agreed to form a committee to administer the Gaza Strip under the name "Community Support Committee", which will be administratively subject to the Ramallah government.

Press sources reported on Wednesday: "The committee will consist of 10 to 15 specialized members who have no Palestinian party affiliations, and it has been tasked with managing the crossings in addition to files related to health, relief, shelter, social development and education."
The sources also added: "The committee will receive funding from international support agencies and from the Palestinian government budget and internal taxes."
They indicated that a meeting will bring together Fatah and Hamas in Cairo to discuss the details related to forming the committee and its working mechanism.
The sources stated that the agreement on this committee came within the framework of confronting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's plan to establish an Israeli civil administration to administer Gaza, where the Israeli army will be the decision-maker.
The issue of the day after the end of the war in the Gaza Strip is a major point of contention.
The Israeli Prime Minister asserts that there is no point in discussing the future management of the Gaza Strip as long as Hamas exists, noting that “talking about the day after as long as Hamas remains as it is will be nothing more than empty talk.”
