Syria’s Interior Minister, Anas Khattab, issued a stern "final warning" on Wednesday to the remnants of the former regime, cautioning against further attempts to spread chaos, killing, or sabotage. Khattab emphasized a paradigm shift in the nation’s security philosophy, stating that the mission is now "to protect citizens, not terrify them." He asserted that the state remains the sole guarantor of safety and rights, vowing zero tolerance for those undermining national stability.

The warning follows a turbulent period in Latakia, where authorities imposed a night-time curfew and arrested 21 individuals linked to the deposed Bashar al-Assad regime. These arrests came after a wave of violence and looting in the coastal city. By deploying security forces and enforcing strict legal measures, the new administration aims to restore calm and prevent regional instability from escalating into further civil unrest.
