France Expresses Deep Concern Over Yemen Escalation, Reaffirms Support for Territorial Integrity

The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on Wednesday that it is "closely monitoring with concern" the rapidly evolving situation in Yemen. Reaffirming its commitment to the unity and territorial integrity of Yemen, Paris emphasized its respect for the authority of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) and the legitimate government. France called for a diplomatic solution in line with the UN Security Council’s recent declarations to prevent further regional instability.

Contrastingly, the Southern Transitional Council (STC) issued a sharp condemnation following the targeting of the Al-Mukalla port. The STC held PLC President Rashad Al-Alimi and his political allies responsible for the military escalation. While the Council praised the UAE’s role in regional security and counter-terrorism, it urged the international community to take a firm stand against actions that threaten local and regional peace.
