French TGV Train Driver Killed and 27 Injured in High-Speed Collision with Truck in Northern France

A tragic accident occurred on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, in the Pas-de-Calais region of northern France, when a TGV train carrying hundreds of passengers collided with a truck at a level crossing. The driver of the high-speed train was killed, and at least 27 passengers sustained injuries after the train derailed near the town of Nœux-les-Mines.

Transport Minister Philippe Tabarot and SNCF chief Jean Castex are traveling to the scene between Béthune and Lens to oversee emergency operations.
