Gulf Under Fire: Massive Iranian Missile and Drone Swarm Hits Kuwait, Qatar, UAE, and Bahrain; U.S. Embassy in Kuwait Issues Emergency Alert

A massive new wave of Iranian missiles and suicide drones targeted Kuwait, Qatar, the UAE, and Bahrain on Monday, March 2, 2026. In Kuwait, smoke was seen rising from the U.S. Embassy grounds as diplomatic staff were ordered to take cover in bunkers. Qatari air defenses reportedly intercepted 89 missiles and 22 drones, while Kuwaiti officials confirmed neutralizing threats over residential areas like Salwa and Rumaithiya.

The escalation turned deadly in Bahrain, where falling shrapnel from an intercepted missile killed one worker and injured two others in the Salman Industrial City. A joint statement by the U.S., Saudi Arabia, and other Arab nations condemned the "reckless" attacks on sovereign states not involved in the conflict. Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) foreign ministers reaffirmed their right to take all necessary measures to protect their stability against what they termed "blatant Iranian aggression."
